ISO 8214: Quantification of Inorganic Sulfates

While providing sulphate fluidity in detergents, it prevents stickiness and clumping. The ISO 8214 standard covers the required test method for the determination of Inorganic Sulfate content in all kinds of commercial washing powders.

Test Principle:
• Removal of all ethanol-soluble matter from a test sample by extraction with ethanol,
• Filtration after dehydration in the presence of silicates,
• Subsequent removal of sulfates in the filtrate precipitation with barium chloride,
• Filtration, washing of the precipitate,
• Heating at 900°C and weighing.
