Sand Resistance Test in Sunscreen

Sand Resistance Test in Sunscreen

One of the physical tests performed on sunscreens is the "Sand Resistance Test". Another test method used for sand resistance testing is carried out by volunteers.

• Sand Collection feature
• Sand Resistance
• Sand Proof Feature

The main purpose of the Sand Resistance Test is to determine the performance of the product to reduce the physical adhesion of sand to the skin after physical contact. The test procedure is briefly as follows:

The test product is administered to the subject subject in a controlled amount of 1 mg/sq cm, unless otherwise specified by the customer. The applied test product film is allowed to dry on the skin for 15 minutes.
The test area is placed in physical contact with a calibrated surface of the known area and at controlled contact pressure containing kiln-dried sand.
The arm is lifted and the sand mass adhering to the skin surface is determined compared to the other arm, which is applied vaseline as a control.
